Penguin Michael Joseph has acquired Dr Federica Amati’s beginner’s guide to personal nutrition, Everybody Should Know This: Digestible Advice for a Healthy Life.
World rights were bought by senior commissioning editor Karolina Kaim from Julia Wolfinden at The Beam Room, with the book scheduled for publication in spring 2024.
Every Body Should Know This is a nutritionist’s guide to demystifying the science behind how to lead a healthy life, the publisher says. It will explore the power of understanding personalised nutrition, in a bite-size format that’s easy to understand and apply to your daily life.
It adds: “Broken down into different life stages, this practical guide uses the latest scientific evidence to reveal the power behind personalised and simple nutrition from childhood to adulthood, putting an end to conflicting advice and confusing medical jargon.”
Dr Amati is a postdoctoral medical scientist at Imperial College London and a nutritionist with more than 10 years of experience in scientific research and communication. Amati leads scientific communications for personalised nutrition company ZOE, where she works alongside Tim Spector.
Amati said: “Making nutrition science and the principles of health and disease easy to understand is what I am most passionate about. Whether teaching medical students or advising individual clients, my goal is to deliver actionable advice to improve health using the most powerful tool we have: our daily food choices. This book brings together the most robust scientific evidence and an essential understanding of how our bodies work, to help every body thrive.”
Kaim commented: “Making nutrition education widely available is a vital part of our quest for healthier lives, and it goes without saying that there is no one better for the job than Dr Federica. We are extremely pleased about her joining our roster of Penguin Michael Joseph authors and can’t wait to publish her first book together.”
