Penguin Michael Joseph has signed two more novels from Gillian McAllister, author of books such as Wrong Place Wrong Time and How to Disappear (Penguin Michael Joseph).
Publishing director Maxine Hitchcock acquired UK and Commonwealth rights to two as-yet-untitled books including audio from Felicity Blunt and Lucy Morris of Curtis Brown. Release dates are still to be announced.
Hitchcock said: “Since her very first novel Gillian has consistently pushed the boundaries of the psychological thriller genre, placing her unforgettable characters in extraordinary dilemmas and emotional jeopardy.
“That she is so skilled at crafting such original and inventive storylines at the same time as creating protagonists who feel so real is testament to a natural born storyteller and someone who we know is well on her way to making it to the very top."
McAllister also commented: “I couldn’t be more delighted to have signed for my ninth and tenth books with Penguin Michael Joseph - who are seven for seven on making my books bestsellers - and to look ahead to Just Another Missing Person next year, which contains my biggest twist yet.
“My huge gratitude goes, too, to the foreign rights team at Curtis Brown and to Felicity and Lucy, my partners in crime. Since joining CB, they have sold me into 27 languages and carefully engineered my career behind-the-scenes so that I may now very proudly call myself both a Sunday Times and a New York Times bestseller.”
