Penguin Michael Joseph (PMJ) has won the rights to Here One Moment, Liane Moriarty’s 10th novel, to be published in September 2024.
Maxine Hitchcock, publishing director, bought UK and Commonwealth rights (excluding Canada and Australia and New Zealand), including audio, from Jonathan Lloyd at Curtis Brown. The book will be published on 26th September 2024 across all formats.
Here One Moment is set to be one of the biggest books of the autumn, PMJ said, and will be supported by a high-profile UK author tour and a major PR and marketing campaign.
The blurb reads: “One ordinary day the lives of a group of unsuspecting strangers are thrown together. Among them is an unassuming woman, who isn’t someone you’d expect to make waves. She’s neat, elderly, quietly spoken. So unassuming as to be invisible.
“But on this cool April day, whether they want her to or not, she changes the lives of these strangers in ways they could never have predicted. Because the day you meet her is a day you’ll never forget. And after this chance encounter, none of these strangers’ lives will ever be the same again.”
Moriarty, who is based in Sydney, is the bestselling author of nine previous novels, including Apples Never Fall, The Husband’s Secret, Big Little Lies and Nine Perfect Strangers. Her novels have sold more than 20 million copies worldwide and been translated into over 40 languages. Big Little Lies and Nine Perfect Strangers has been adapted for TV while “Apples Never Fall”, a TV series starring Sam Neil and Annette Bening, will be released this year.
