Penguin Michael Joseph (PMJ) has unveiled Jamie Oliver’s latest cookbook, 5 Ingredients Mediterranean, for publication this August.
It will be published by PMJ as part of an existing deal. Louise Moore, managing director of PMJ, is Oliver’s longtime publisher. 5 Ingredients Mediterranean will be the “sister cookbook” to the original 5 Ingredients, which according to the publisher has sold more than 3.3 million copies worldwide, across 24 territories.
In the new book, scheduled for publication on 31st August, Oliver delivers new recipes, with minimal fuss, to help reinvigorate mealtimes, the publisher says, going on: “5 Ingredients Mediterranean is full of big-flavour food, but without lots of ingredients or long shopping lists and is inspired by Jamie’s travels to the Mediterranean.
“With over 125 delicious and easy-to-follow recipes, the book is all about making every day cooking exciting but accessible. With chapters including Salads, Soups and Sarnies, Pasta, Veg, Pies and Parcels, Seafood, Fish, Chicken and Duck, Meat and Sweet Things, you’ll find something for every day of the week, and every occasion. Each recipe will include a visual ingredient guide as well as a short easy-to-follow method, making this the perfect companion to the original 5 Ingredients.”
Oliver said: “It was never in the plan to write another 5 Ingredients cookbook, but I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve been asked! With the added va-va-voom of basing it on my life-long travels around the Med, this book is a real celebration of one of the most loved and respected diets in the world – think big-hitting hero flavours, stripped-back methods and clever hacks, all translated through the 5 Ingredient lens for easy everyday cooking."
Moore said: “The original 5 Ingredients cookbook is the most popular of all Jamie’s wonderful cookbooks and so we are delighted that he’s revisiting the concept. But, of course, this being Jamie he’s given it a brand new Mediterranean twist. I am already adding some new favourites from this book to my all-time Jamie classics.”
