Penguin Random House Children’s UK has acquired a number of titles based on Alfred Gough and Miles Millar’s series "Wednesday", produced by MGM Television—a division of Amazon MGM Studios—and based on Wednesday Addams of the Addams Family.
UK and Commonwealth rights have been licensed from Amazon MGM Studios Consumer Products by Leanne Gill, publishing director for licensing, Chris Angelilli, v.p. and editor-in-chief and director of licensed publishing and Hannah Babcock, director of foreign rights at Random House US.
The first two titles in the publishing programme are a young adult novelisation of the first season and an official colouring book, and they will hit shelves in time for Christmas.Wednesday: A Novelisation of Season One will be published 5th December and Wednesday: The Official Colouring Book will publish 12th December.
"Wednesday: A Novelisation of Season One adapted by Tehlor Kay Mejia is based on scripts by Gough, Millar, Kayla Alpert, April Blair and Matt Lambert for the series created by Gough and Millar, based on characters created by Charles Addams," the synopsis says. "Return to the hallowed halls of Nevermore Academy to revisit the adventures of season one of Wednesday through the first-person narration of Wednesday herself."
Gill said: "I am devilishly delighted to welcome the wickedly wonderful Wednesday to our list! Wednesday captured our dark little hearts immediately and we know her fiendish fans are going to love our Official Colouring Book, as well as reading all about her in the novelisation of series one, with much more to come in 2025."
