Penguin UK has snapped up the first book by Instagram star Daisy Upton, also known as "Five Minute Mum".
Holly Harris, editorial director at Penguin Random House Children’s acquired world rights to Give Me Five from Lauren Gardner at Bell Lomax Moreton. The collection of activities for "guilt free parenting" will be published under the Penguin imprint in February 2020.
"Five Minute Mum’s Give Me Five is the perfect handbook for busy parents; it includes over 150 games to help make life easier for those who spend time with little people," reads the synopsis. "Each game takes five minutes to set up and five minutes to tidy up and makes use of objects and materials easily accessed from any household."
Harris said: "Daisy is a total genius – and as soon as the parents in the Penguin team read her proposal, they were testing out the games on their own children. Our list is about bringing families together, and Daisy’s activities do just that, and they genuinely do take just five minutes to set up and tidy away. The response to the announcement from Daisy’s fans has been phenomenal and we are very excited to publish Give Me Five next year."
