Ebury Spotlight has bought The Therapy Crouch: In Search of a Happy (N)ever After by Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch, inspired by the couple’s podcast.
Publishing director Charlotte Hardman acquired world all-language rights directly from the authors and publication is scheduled for October 2023.
The blurb reads: “Married for 12 years and together for 17, with four young children, Peter and Abbey have been entertaining legions of fans discussing the ups and downs of married life on their hit podcast ‘The Therapy Crouch’, and will now be baring all in a brand new book, published this autumn.
"From hooking up to facing life’s challenges, getting together to staying together, join the nation’s favourite couple as they navigate their way through the trials and tribulations of dating and relationships.”
Ebury said: “‘The Therapy Crouch’ podcast started in January 2023 and became an immediate hit, regularly ranking in Apple’s top 10 of all UK podcasts, with its accompanying TikTok videos amassing millions of views." Now the couple "will take readers a step further into their world, telling never-before-heard stories and taking readers behind the curtain as they show the realities of long-term love and explore the real meaning of happy ever after".
Hardman said: “The team at Ebury Spotlight are delighted to be working with Peter again and this time to be welcoming Abbey into the fold too.
"Abbey and Peter’s brilliantly funny exploration of the highs and lows of love and relationships brings such joy and their ‘advice’ probably won’t help you in any way at all, but it is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.”
