PFD will take on translation rights on behalf of David Godwin Associates (DGA).
The rights will be handled by Lisette Verhagen (pictured), who joined PFD earlier this month from DGA, alongside PFD international rights director Rebecca Wearmouth, and the foreign rights team at PFD.
DGA, which was founded by David and Heather Godwin in 1995, represents a number of prize-winning authors, including Arundhati Roy, William Dalrymple, Christina Lamb, Lucy Ellmann, Vikram Seth and Jim Crace.
David and Heather Godwin said: "PFD is a hugely distinguished agency with writers we have always admired—including Edna O’Brien, Jeanette Winterson and Simon Schama, amongst many—and we are thrilled to be working alongside them and continuing our relationship with Lisette Verhagen. Everyone here is so excited to join such a vibrant and forward-looking agency."
Caroline Michel, c.e.o. of PFD, said: "We are honoured and delighted to represent David Godwin for international rights. DGA’s list is second to none. It is a breathtaking list of internationally admired authors, including prize-winning literary fiction, urgent and challenging non-fiction and some of the very biggest names in the business. We are all here at PFD absolutely thrilled to be working with such an important and highly respected agency."
