Piatkus, an imprint of Little, Brown, has acquired the first book from Drive to Survive star Calum Nicholas in a five-way auction.
Executive Publisher Zoe Bohm acquired world rights to Life in the Pitlane from the Formula 1 mechanic in the auction from Oscar Janson-Smith on behalf of Francesca Scambler at District Global. Publication in hardback, e-book and audiobook is set for 27th February 2025.
Life in the Pitlane is a memoir from Red Bull’s senior engineer Nicholas that its publisher says will gives readers a new insight into Formula 1. The book covers high-octane tales and behind-the-scenes details you’d expect from F1 and brings a new perspective to the sport, as Nicholas reflects on his career so far, how the sport has changed for those working in it, the realities of life on the road and the future he hopes lies ahead.
Bohm said: "Formula 1 has exploded in popularity over the past few years and I am thrilled to be publishing the ultimate insider’s guide to the sport from one of its most recognisable personalities."
