Little, Brown imprint Piatkus has acquired a new diet book by medical doctor Michelle Braude, based on a programme the author uses at her nutrition practice. It claims to be able to help readers lose at least 6lbs in four weeks without giving up carbs, alcohol or chocolate.
Publishing director Zoe Bohm acquired world rights to the book, entitled The Food Effect Diet: Eat More, Weigh Less, Look and Feel Better, from Heather Holden Brown for publication in trade paperback on 31st December 2017.
According to Braude, the book has given her the opportunity to show people that "losing weight, staying slim, and looking and feeling your best, is something that’s readily achievable for everyone and 100% sustainable".
"Healthy eating isn’t about restriction, it should be enjoyable and become the norm. The Food Effect Diet shows you how," she added.
Bohm said: "I am delighted to welcome Michelle to the Piatkus list. What I love about this diet it that it isn’t restrictive and won’t leave you hungry. Although readers will see quick results, Michelle’s sensible, easy-to-follow advice will also form the basis for a long-term lifestyle change that will leave you feeling healthier and looking fantastic, which is exactly what we look for with any Piatkus book."
