Piatkus has acquired I Think I Like Girls, “a guide to exploring your sexuality and dating women” by author and actor Rosie Day.
Commissioning editor Bernadette Marron bought UK and Commonwealth rights from Anna Dixon at YMU for publication in spring 2025.
“When Rosie first embarked on exploring her sexuality, she didn’t know where to start and spent a long time longing for something that didn’t feel possible to her” the publisher said. “It can be hard to approach dating in a way that feels authentic when the information out there is limited, and you may not have friends in the queer community already. So maybe the first step is to turn to the internet, but that can feel like falling into a black hole of information. Enter Rosie, who has been navigating this journey herself.”
Marron said: “I Think I Like Girls will offer much-needed support that will encourage and empower women to explore their sexuality. With so few books available that are written specifically with women in mind, it will be invaluable for anyone who has ever felt confused or unsure about how to navigate dating women. Rosie is so funny and engaging and she writes with such honesty about her own experiences that I know readers will instantly connect with and find comfort in her writing.”
Day added: “Having been in a closet that could rival Narnia for many years, I’m so delighted to get the opportunity to write I Think I Like Girls…. Everyone should be free to discover, reclaim and explore their sexuality. I hope to create a book that inspires, emboldens and empowers women to live life as their authentic selves.”
