Piatkus has snapped up rights to a “fresh feminist fantasy” by Maria Lewis about a banshee whose scream is stolen.
World rights were acquired by Anna Boatman in a two-book deal last year for The Witch Who Courted Death. New book The Wailing Woman will be published at the end of 2019.
Lewis said: “‘I’m positively stoked to be able to continue this shared, supernatural universe with my fifth book, The Wailing Woman, and keep telling the stories of female ‘monsters', which I believe are vital in this current political climate.”
Boatman added: ”It is a pleasure and a privilege to work with Maria – her unique view of the world and her sharp humour make her a joy to read.”
