Piatkus bags Baroness Morrissey's second book

Piatkus has acquired Style and Substance: A Guide for Women Who Want to Win at Work by Baroness Helena Morrissey DBE. 

Morrissey is a financier, campaigner and author of A Good Time to be a Girl (William Collins, 2018). 

Style and Substance, her second book, is billed as the "ultimate handbook" for women who want to get ahead in their careers and learn to achieve career goals by finding their personal style in the workplace. The guide will give readers the confidence to master the style—in both appearance and communications—that will enhance their personal brand and showcase their "substance", says the publisher.

World rights were acquired by PCR non-fiction publisher Zoe Bohm from Oscar Janson-Smith at Kruger Cowne for publication in October 2021.

Bohm said: "Having admired Helena’s work from afar for many years, it’s a real dream come true to be publishing her new book on my list. I’m not sure there could be a better guide than Helena to show women everywhere how to develop the style that most effectively showcases their skills—and why this is such an important part of achieving success at work."

Morrissey commented: "So much of the career advice given to women focuses on teaching us to emulate men.
