Piatkus has acquired the rights to broadcaster Gabby Logan’s new book, The Midpoint Plan: Taking charge of your health, habits and happiness to thrive in midlife and beyond.
Gina Luck, brand publisher for Piatkus Constable Robinson, acquired UK & Commonwealth rights from Amanda Harris, m.d. of YMU Books, for publication on 3rd July 2024 in hardback, ebook and audio.
The blurb reads: “Inspired by her hit podcast, The Midpoint Plan is a must-have manual for all midlife men and women. Designed to help you navigate the biggest challenges that midlife can throw at you – financial worries, brain performance, changing relationships, fluctuating hormones, illness, grief, maintaining fitness, eating well, getting enough sleep and so much more – The Midpoint Plan is an indispensable guide to reflecting on where you are and creating a new narrative for your second half.”
Luck said of the acquisition: “As a fan of Gabby’s podcast, ‘The Midpoint’, I was delighted when Gabby said she wanted to write a book about this pivotal time of life. And even more delighted when she delivered this wonderfully inspirational and helpful book. It is packed with life lessons from an array of actors, musicians, sports legends, business leaders and politicians, and contains so much invaluable expert advice.”
Logan added: “I started ‘The Midpoint’ podcast in 2020 at 46 years old hoping to learn more about this period of life I was entrenched in and also to avoid becoming a sitcom cliché of middle-aged and beige. I wanted to be ready and excited for the second half of my life and prepared for the changes that were inevitably coming.
“I have been lucky enough to interview more than 100 famous midlifers and as many exceptional experts, it has been a wonderful voyage of discovery. Those interviews have been the springboard for this book, which I hope will send readers into midlife and beyond with the kind of information, inspiration and good friendly advice they need to navigate these years with excitement rather than fear.”
Harris commented: “In her podcast, ‘The Midpoint’, Gabby Logan brilliantly curates insightful lived wisdom and the latest health advice to empower her listeners. The book reflects this perfect mix, and reveals how we can all live our most fulfilling and energising of middle years.”
