Piatkus has snapped up The Making of Bridgerton: The Official Ride from Script to Screen by the show’s executive producers Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers.
Zoe Bohm, non-fiction publisher, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Jennifer Joel at ICM. The Making of Bridgerton will be published on 25th October 2022 in hardback, e-book and audio.
“Bridgerton” season one was a Netflix hit, viewed by more than 82 million households around the world in the first 28 days of its release, according to the streaming service. It has been renewed for three further series, with a Queen Charlotte spin-off prequel also mooted. The second season will launch on 25th March 2022. The Making of Bridgerton will be "beautifully" illustrated, giving readers an inside look at the world-building and adaption of the show.
Bohm commented: “As a huge fan of ‘Bridgerton’ I was beyond excited when I heard that there would be an official tie-in book. Piatkus is the home of the Bridgerton novels which inspired the series and have now sold millions of copies worldwide, and I am thrilled to be expanding our publishing with this first non-fiction addition to the Bridgerton brand. It will be a must-buy for the millions of viewers who have fallen in love with the show and its characters.”
“The audience response to ‘Bridgerton’ has been incredible,” said Rhimes and Beers. “We are so excited to give fans insight into how this story made it to the screen by shining a light on all of the incredible people who worked tirelessly on this project through never-before-heard first-hand accounts from the creatives, cast and crew on the wild ride it took to bring this story to life.”
