Picador has scooped WHAT, a new poetry collection from the "Poet Laureate of Punk", John Cooper Clarke.
Colette Bryce, poetry editor, acquired UK and Commonwealth and audio rights from Phil Jones at Edge Street Live. The collection will be published on 8th February 2024 to coincide with Clarke’s national anniversary theatre tour.
WHAT showcases Cooper Clarke’s "sardonic wit and hilarious ponderings on modern life" and follows from his poetry collection, The Luckiest Guy Alive (Pan Macmillan).
Mary Mount, publisher, commented: "I am overjoyed that Picador will be bringing John Cooper Clarke’s next collection of poetry to his thousands of fans. This gem is another wonderful foray into John’s unique universe and will delight his legions of readers. I can’t wait to share it with everyone."
Cooper Clarke said: "It’s just as good as the last one but better. It’s more of the same and then some.”
