Piccadilly Press, an imprint of Bonnier Books UK, has signed author-illustrator Hannah Peck to its list for her debut three-book series of children’s fiction.
Felicity Alexander, senior commissioning editor at Piccadilly Press, acquired world rights for the series, Kate on the Case, from literary agent Arabella Stein at The Bright Agency.
Launching in March 2021, the mystery series is aimed at readers aged six and over, and will be written and illustrated by Peck. The children’s books tell the story of young detective Kate and her mouse-accomplice, Roo, in three instalments: the second edition will publish in September 2021 and the final book in March 2022.
Alexander said: “Having worked with Hannah as an illustrator, we knew how creative and brilliant she is, so we were immediately interested when Arabella approached us about Kate on the Case. Once we’d read the text, which sparkles with adventure, humour, baking and a dash of the unexpected, we were even more captivated.”
Peck added: “I’m so pleased Bonnier Books UK have jumped aboard this journey too, and I am excited to see where it will take us all. I hope Kate and Rupert [Roo] will inspire kids to be curious, cunning and kind.”
