Penguin Michael Joseph will publish a “no-nonsense guide to getting dressed” from Net-a-Porter’s fashion director Kay Barron on 29th August 2024 in hardback, e-book and audio.
World rights in How to Wear Everything were acquired by PMJ managing director Louise Moore and publisher Jillian Taylor from Caroline Wood at Felicity Bryan Associates. International rights have been sold to Chronicle Books in the US, Editions Marabout in France and Act si Politon in Romania.
Described as a book about clothes, not a book about fashion, How to Wear Everything covers where to start, what you need and what you absolutely do not – whatever your age, body type or budget. It includes original tips and tricks from some of the world’s best-dressed, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Law Roach, Jodie Turner Smith, Sofia Richie Grainge and Oprah.
Barron said: “I want to make readers feel confident and excited about what they wear. Ideally, I want clothes to become something that make them happy. And if not happy, then at least for clothes and getting dressed to be one less thing to worry about... No one should open their wardrobe doors with worry, panic or apprehension. It’s about understanding what you want to put on your body, how, what with, and when.”
Taylor added: “Kay Barron is the coolest person you haven’t yet met. Stylish, relaxed and brilliantly down-to-earth, she wears her two decades’ experience in the fashion industry wonderfully lightly. Her first book is a triumph of money-can’t-buy advice and hard-won tips and tricks.”
