Prince Philip biography brought forward by Ad Lib

Ad Lib is bringing forward the release of Prince Philip's Century by royal commentator Robert Jobson following the Duke of Edinburgh's death last week.

The book, originally slated for a June release to coincide with the Duke's 100th birthday, will now be released on 15th April. Ad Lib founder John Blake acquired world all language rights direct from the author.

Jobson’s “magnificent” new biography tells the full story of the duke's remarkable life and achievements, and how, after his marriage in 1947 to Princess Elizabeth, this dedicated military man spent so much of his life supporting his wife.

The publisher said: “He remained the Queen's adviser until his death and is recognised as such the world over. That said, he was wise enough to recognise his limitations and the constraints of his role. He always seemed to instinctively know when it was time to step back and let his wife take the lead. His job was, after all, to allow her star to shine.”

Earlier this week, Coronet announced it would publish Philip: The Final Portrait by Gyles Brandreth, a revised and updated version of a previous royal biography, this month.
