Puffin has snapped up Manifest for Kids, a middle-grade non-fiction book by self-development coach, mental health ambassador and “manifesting expert” Roxie Nafousi.
World rights were bought by senior commissioning editor Phoebe Jascourt and commissioning editor Tom Rawlinson direct from Nafousi. Manifest for Kids will publish on 28th September 2023 and is Nafousi’s first book for children.
Nafousi’s original Manifest (Penguin Michael Joseph) was a Sunday Times bestseller. The publisher promises the young reader version will explain “how the power of the mind can be used to make positive changes in children’s daily lives”.
Nafousi has tailored her work into “an engaging four-step guide for children aged eight and above, focusing on understanding emotions, self-belief, gratitude and goal setting”, the publisher continued.
Alongside the guide, readers can also find activities to do alone and with friends or family, as well as a daily journal.
“As a parent, I know that all you want for your child is to be the best and happiest version of themselves they can be,” Nafousi said. “I also know that children are struggling more and more with the pressures of modern life.
"I wrote this book because I believe that every child deserves to feel confident, to believe in themselves and to know how special they are. If we can equip children with tools and guidance that will help them to help themselves, we can profoundly change the direction of their lives. My hope is that as many children as possible will read this book, and that together we can positively influence a generation.”
