Quadrille is publishing a companion book to the eighth series of BBC1's "The Great British Sewing Bee".
Publishing director Sarah Lavelle and senior commissioning editor Harriet Butt bought world rights to The Modern Wardrobe directly from Love Productions. It will publish in April 2022 with the new series due to return next spring.
Butt said: “Home sewing is more popular than ever and with an increasing number of viewers wanting to have a go, The Modern Wardrobe offers a new challenge, showing them how to tackle simple alterations. We are so excited to be working with previous 'Sewing Bee' winner Juliet Uzor on this tie-in to the series. Juliet’s clear and concise approach to sewing puts the emphasis on creating clothes you love through timeless designs that are easy to make, wear and combine.”
The new series sees designer Patrick Grant and co-founder of fashion label Swanky Modes Esme Young reprising their roles as judges. They will be joined by new presenter Sara Pascoe.
Quadrille has also published tie-in books alongside six previous series of "The Great British Sewing Bee". It said: "With 27 projects in womenswear sizes 8-22, this new book will expand on crucial techniques and further your understanding of how to bring more of your own personal style to the clothes you want to wear."
