Quadrille has scooped the third book by Chidera Eggerue, described as showing women “how to reframe the stale goal of finding a man”.
Commissioning editor Susannah Otter acquired world rights from Abigail Bergstrom at Gleam Titles after being sent the manuscript exclusively. How to Get Over a Boy will be published on 6th February 2020.
The publisher said: “Eggerue will equip the reader with tangible and applicable solutions for every part of their dating lives, helping them to recognise that men hold as much power in our romantic lives as we grant them.”
Eggerue’s first book, What A Time To Be Alone, was released by Quadrille in 2018. Also known as The Slumflower, she has over 280,000 followers across her social media accounts, been described by Elle as a “millennial mastermind”, featured in Vogue, Grazia and Stylist and guest-edited Radio 4’s Today programme.
Otter said: “F*ckbois of the world, beware! The Slumflower sees you, and she is coming for you, hard. This is the book every woman needs. This is the perfect follow up to the brilliant What a Time to be Alone, and I can’t wait to get Chidera’s warm and invaluable wisdom out into the world.”
Eggerue added: “I’ve been sitting on this secret for AGES but I’m proud to finally announce that I’ve been working on my THIRD book! It’s called How to Get Over a Boy. It’s time to finally take the power back in your life. Let’s start with love.”
