Quercus has acquired a new duology and three novellas from TikTok sensation Lyla Sage. UK and Commonwealth rights were acquired to the duology and the three Rebel Blue Ranch novellas by Emma Capron, editorial director at Quercus, from Anna Carmichael (Abner Stein) on behalf of lead agent Jessica Watterson (Sandra Dijkstra Literary Agency).
The duology is entitled Sweetwater Peak, and is described as a small-town romance duology following twin sisters who work at their family’s antique shop in Wyoming. The sisters "couldn’t be more different if they tried, except for the fact that they are both able to communicate with ghosts".
Sage described the duet as a "contemporary take on a western gothic romance", and includes Sage’s staples of romance, atmosphere, family ties and some western flare.

Sage said: "There aren’t many places that could pull me away from Meadowlark, but Sweetwater Peak is exactly where I’m supposed to be. It feels like the truest parts of me have made their way onto a page and wrapped themselves up in a soft, sexy, and slightly spooky package."
She added: "I’m excited to continue to work with Quercus to bring my new duology of Western romances across the pond."
Capron said: "I have been so proud to be part of the incredible success story that is Lyla’s publishing journey so far. It has been incredible to watch readers come out for this series and I just know they will be equally obsessed with the Sweetwater Peak duology. And for those desperate to uncover more of the Rebel Blue universe, the novellas will be much sought after, not least for the prequel that we all long to read: Amos Ryder’s love story."
Watterson said: "I’m thrilled that Lyla’s books are staying home at Quercus and can’t wait to see what amazing feats they’ll accomplish together."
