Quercus Fiction has triumphed in a six-way auction for Lyla Sage’s Rebel Blue Ranch series.
Editorial director Emma Capron acquired UK and Commonwealth rights to a four-book deal from Anna Carmichael at Abner Stein on behalf of Jessica Watterson at Sandra Dijkstra and Associates Literary Agency.
Done and Dusted, the first in the series, will be published in paperback on 24th October with an exclusive Q&A with the author and a "first look" at Swift and Saddled, book two in the series publishing on 5th March 2024. The third book in the series will be published later the same year.
Sage self-published the first book in her cowboy romance in summer 2023 and it now has a "ride or die" following on BookTok according to the publisher.
Capron commented: "I couldn’t put this book down and when I finished it, I knew I would do anything to get my hands on the next book. Luckily for me, we won the auction, and I can now say that Swift and Saddled is everything readers will want and more. Lyla is such a talented writer, covering important themes in a world where it is safe for the kick-ass heroine to be vulnerable and to discover who they are. While falling in love with off-the-charts sexy cowboys, of course."
Sage added: "As an author, there’s nothing more thrilling than working with people as passionate and excited as the team at Quercus. There is no better home in the UK for the Rebel Blue Ranch series and all of its cowboys."
