Quercus is set to publish the latest TommyInnit book from YouTuber Tom Simons. World rights to TommyInnit’s Guide to Survival have been acquired by Jane Sturrock and Jon Butler from Amanda Preston at LBA, acting on behalf of MonRae Management.
This is the second book from Simons, also known as TommyInnit to his 50 million subscribers across his channels, after his first, TommyInnit Says… The Quote Book (Quercus), was a Sunday Times Bestseller in 2022. The book is written with Simons’ "trademark humour" and reveals Tom’s ultimate guide to life, covering topics including his philosophy on a zombie apocalypse, friends turning evil and surviving attacks by armed squirrels.
Simons said: "When I sat down to write TommyInnit’s Guide to Survival, I thought really really hard to myself: ‘What do people need to know about in life? Probably how to coast through the minor inconvenience of a Third World War. Or maybe how to battle anxiety. That sort of... thing.’ It’s a book for people who want to laugh, inquire and maybe learn something useful in a crisis. Or not. Either way. Thanks to Quercus for trusting me to guide the world in its time of need. I am the hero the world needs... I think."
Butler, managing director of Quercus, said: "Tom’s comic riffs are as fresh as new paint: brilliant, surreal takes on all of the challenges that life throws at us, from death, taxes and toxic relationships to late homework and swans. It’s a joy to watch Tom grow as a comic writer of real wit and invention, and his millions of fans around the world are going to love TommyInnit’s Guide to Survival."
The book will publish on 10th April 2025.
