Radar has scooped The Sun Over the Mountains: A Story of Hope, Healing and Restoration from Suzie Fletcher, the "resident leather expert" on BBC show "The Repair Shop".
Publisher Briony Gowlett acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Charlotte Robertson at Robertson Murray Literary Agency. The book will be published in May 2023.
The Sun Over the Mountains is Fletcher’s debut book and looks back over her life to "the places, people and experiences that have shaped the person she is today". A "self-confessed free spirit with a deep connection to nature," Fletcher’s "exceptional warmth and zest for life" comes through on every page.
Gowlett commented: "There is so much more to Suzie and her story than meets the eye, and it is a great privilege to be working with her on this book. I can’t wait for Suzie to get out there and connect with people – she has so much wisdom to offer, and I know readers at all stages of life will find something in her experiences."
Fletcher added: "My life has been full of the ups, downs, and in-betweens we expect to experience in life. In this book I share some of the skills I acquired and used to manage all that I’ve faced. Although some scars run deep, it is my love for nature, my work and especially the animals that have helped me through it all. I am truly grateful for every moment."
