Radar has acquired Raise Your SQ – a guide to transforming your life with spiritual intelligence by Annie Ridout.
Briony Gowlett, publisher, acquired world English language rights from Megan Staunton at Bergstrom Studio, with publication scheduled for 25th May 2023.
The publisher says: “Part spiritual toolkit, part inspirational ’how to’, Raise Your SQ will shine a light on the new metric; Spiritual Intelligence, used by thought-leaders Oprah Winfrey, Arianna Huffington and Brené Brown. Structured through lessons, routines and exercises, Raise Your SQ will draw on Annie’s own experience of how raising her spiritual intelligence transformed her work life, from scrimping and saving each month, to creating a six-figure business from scratch.
“And how it allowed her to create much-needed harmony between her work and personal goals. Embodying a new way of living and working, this book will transform your life, by tapping into powers we all have and can nurture. Raise Your SQ will help you unlock the potential of an intelligence you didn’t know you possessed."
Gowlett said of the acquisition: “It’s increasingly evident that readers are looking for balancing and stabilising influences in their lives, and employing Spiritual Intelligence does exactly that. Raise Your SQ offers solid reasoning and practical methods for tapping into a power we all have and will open up the subject for even the most sceptical.”
Ridout, the author of three non-fiction books including Shy: How Being Quiet Can Lead to Success (Fourth Estate), a journalist for the national press, a certified life coach and a business consultant, commented: “For some years, I’ve been using tarot and oracle cards to help with decision-making, creating vision-boards of my ‘dream life’ and reciting magic spells to help me hone in on my business goals and believe that I can achieve them.
“Not only have these SQ tools helped me to launch and grow a six-figure online business, secure journalism commissions from my favourite publications and get three non-fiction books deals, but they also helped me to work through burnout and come out the other end feeling more focused and joyful than ever before.”
