Hamish Hamilton and Alfred A Knopf are publishing a memoir by Granta editor Sigrid Rausing in spring 2017.
The memoir is decribed as "a moving account of the terrifying impact that addiction can have on a family".
It was written as a response to her sister-in-law death from an overdose at her home in Belgravia in July 2012, and the subsequent arrest of her brother. Rausing discussed those events earlier this month on an episode of BBC Radio 4's "Desert Island Discs."
Rausing is the editor of Granta magazine and the publisher of Granta Books and Portobello Books. Her first book, History, Memory and Identity in Post-Soviet Estonia: the End of a Collective Farm, was published in 2004 by Oxford University Press, and her second book, Everything Is Wonderful by Grove Atlantic in 2014.
Simon Prosser, publishing director at Hamish Hamilton, and Robin Desser, vice president and editorial director at Alfred A Knopf, acquired English language rights from Andrew Wylie of the Wylie Agency.
