Eyewear Publishing has acquired the world rights to Jeremy Reed's The Billy Boy Remixes.
In this 400th year after Shakespeare's death, Reed rewrites each of the Bard’s sonnets in his own "masterful, unique style for a contemporary, gritty take on the some of the greatest poems in the English tradition".
Reed’s agent, Helen Donlon from Storm International Literary Agency, said: “Jeremy’s recasting of the Sonnets into a twilight neon landscape gives Shakespeare’s work a contemporary setting, painted nonetheless with the age-old colours of passion and romantic agony. We’re delighted to be joining the Eyewear list for this timely publication.”
Reed has published over 40 books of poetry, fiction and nonfiction, and has won literary prizes including the Somerset Maugham Award.
Publication is due for October 2016.
