Renegade Books has signed the debut novel, Quarter-Love Crisis, in a two-book deal from lifestyle content creator Jasmine Burke.
Editor Alex Allen-Batifoulier acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Silé Edwards at Andrew Nurnberg Associates before she went on parental leave. Assistant editor Saida Azizova will edit Quarter-Love Crisis for publication in July 2025.
Edwards said: "It has been a pleasure to work with Jasmine on her debut. I have longed to see a character like Maddison on the page, and I am so pleased that we found a home for her work with the incredible team at Dialogue who understood the vision at once, and will champion her to the ends of the earth – and the shelves of bookshops."
Quarter-Love Crisis is a "hilarious and utterly addictive rivals-to-lovers workplace rom-com about surviving your twenties".
The story follows Maddison Clarke who must work with long-time rival Aiden Thomas to lead on the biggest company event to date. Azizova called the novel "distinctly relatable and thoughtful".
Burke commented: "Publishing a book has been a dream of mine since I was six years old and bothering my family with manuscripts I wrote during summer holidays. Watching it materialise feels surreal, and I cannot thank Silé, Alexa, Saida and the Renegade team enough for understanding and believing in this book just as much as me."
