Renegade scores Kandi Steiner’s Kings of the Ice series in three-way auction

Renegade has scored a four-book deal with “sports romance aficianado” and TikTok “sensation” Kandi Steiner following a three-way auction.

Editor Alexa Allen-Batifoulier, who is covered by assistant editor Saida Azizova while she is on parental leave, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Alice Lutyens at Curtis Brown, on behalf of Ariele Fredman at UTA. The first three books in the series, Meet Your Match, Watch Your Mouth and Learn Your Lesson, will be published in paperback and ebook on 3rd October 2024. The fourth book, Save Your Breath, is slated for publication in March 2025. 

The previously self-published Kings of the Ice series consists of multiple standalone novels following a team of professional hockey players. Meet Your Match follows social media journalist Maven King and hockey player Vince Tanev. The second instalment charts the story of Vince’s younger sister, Grace Tenev, and defenseman Jaxson Brittain “in an opposites-attract, secret road trip romance”. Learn Your Lesson tells the story of goalkeeper Will Perry and Chloe Knott, the nanny to his daughter.
