Ebury imprint Rider has snapped up non-fiction book Take It In by Giselle La Pompe-Moore, an "empowering" guide to spirituality.
Publishing director Olivia Morris acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Hayley Steed at the Madeleine Milburn Agency. Take It In: Do the Inner Work. Create Your Best Damn Life will publish in March 2022.
La Pompe-Moore is a spiritual guide, meditation teacher, Reiki master, speaker and writer. In Take It In she offers a “no-nonsense, down-to-earth approach that moves away from the spirituality that’s filled with gatekeepers, hierarchy, superstition, privilege and a ton of confusing concepts”.
The synopsis reads: “Take It In guides us to see that visualisation, wishful thinking and gratitude lists alone can’t outwit the very real stuff we’re all carrying. From self-criticism, fears and doubts to racism, poverty and trauma, everyone carries stuff that makes us believe that greater purpose, peace and potential isn’t available to us. With personal anecdotes, plenty of laughs, practical exercises you’ll actually want to do and learnings from the lives of thousands of clients, you’ll be guided to look at and work on your stuff, so you can show up, respond to and create the life you’ve always wanted.”
Rider said: “We are overjoyed to be welcoming Giselle to Rider. Take It In is the balm we all need right now. Giselle’s grounded and empowering advice shows us how to welcome spirituality into our everyday lives and connect with our inner power to create the life we want. We cannot wait to share this book with the world.”
Giselle La Pompe-Moore commented: “My intention for Take It In is to make spirituality accessible and doable in a time when we have so much global instability to contend with; to guide readers to implement practical teachings that work with the realities of modern life, and in turn create whatever it is that they want from their own. We are the only constant in an uncertain world and it’s my greatest hope that readers will be reminded of the innate power they have within. I’m truly overjoyed that it's Rider bringing this intention to life.”
Steed added: “I couldn’t imagine a better person than Giselle to bring spirituality to a wider audience—her experience, her creativity and her accessible tone make this the perfect bible for anyone interested, or even slightly intrigued by, spirituality. Her practical methods of finding calm and power within are reassuring and inspiring, especially in a world of such upheaval. It’s the tonic we all need right now, and I can’t wait for it to publish next year with the team at Rider.”
