Hera has fallen for a new romance series set in the Scottish Highlands from Amelia Berry.
Publisher Keshini Naidoo acquired world English language rights, including audio and translation, in a three-book deal directly from the author. The first book in the deal, The Lowbridge Loch Cookery School, will be published in spring 2025 as a paperback original. Books two and three will follow in autumn 2025 and spring 2026, respectively.
The Lowbridge Loch Cookery School series is pitched as a "gorgeously escapist read packed with humour, romance and wonderful cast of eccentric characters". The first instalment in the series follows Bella who moves to the Highland village of Lowbridge when her romance with Adam is cut short after he is made the new Baron Lowbridge. The pair decide to set up a cookery school to keep his family estate afloat.
Berry, who also writes under Ally Sinclair and Alison May, commented: "I’m delighted to be working with the whole team at Hera again and I can’t wait to take readers on a journey to one of my favourite places in the world—the Scottish Highlands—where, thanks to Bella’s culinary prowess, I get to channel my own love of cooking, baking and, indeed, eating, into the story of the warm and wonderful Lowbridge community."
Jennie Ayres, commissioning editor, added: "This is such a joyful, fun, engaging series—the whole Hera team fell in love with it from the very first moment. A combination of Amelia’s wit, warmth and achingly romantic storylines, along with a stunning Scottish location and lots of cookery fun, will be the perfect recipe for romance readers. We are delighted to publish the Lowbridge Loch Cookery School series."
