Souvenir Press has acquired Bordergrams, a new puzzle series by Murdle (Souvenir Press) creator G T Karber.
Karber developed Bordergrams with co-creator Daniel Donohue and co-writers Dani Messerschmidt and Amin Osman. Souvenir Press publishing director Cindy Chan acquired UK and Commonwealth (excluding Canada) rights in a two-book deal from Kerry Nordling at St Martin’s Press. The first book will publish in September 2025, with book two following in Spring 2026.
"Bordergrams: 80 Secret Spy Connections Puzzles is a spy-themed puzzle book that combines connections-style word puzzles and cryptic clues with intrigue, daring missions and G T Karber’s usual dry, dark humour,” the synopsis says. “With an all-new puzzle grid concept, a cast of characters and coded missives between secret agents and the masked director, head of top-secret organisation The Division, Bordergrams will challenge puzzlers to step into the shoes of a secret agent working to divide territories into superior, more governable factions.”
Continues…
Karber said: “Bordergrams is a new take on an old puzzle: you play a spy on a mission to establish a new world order. Along the way, you’ll start to question the methods of the mysterious Division that employs you… For this book, I brought together three of the smartest people I know to make a new kind of puzzle book I hope people will love. I am so excited for Souvenir to bring this new creation to the UK.”
Chan added: “I am captivated by Greg’s exciting new puzzle creation. He and his co-creators have been developing this alongside his beloved Murdles for some time, set in a world of spies and adventure. I think readers will love to enter the shady realm of Bordergrams to do the unfaltering bidding of The Division.”
Souvenir Press also acquired Merry Murdle by Karber, a Christmas edition of Murdle that sees Deductive Logico “forced to pause his holiday activities to investigate a series of not-so-jolly murders”. Chan acquired UK and Commonwealth (excluding Canada) rights from Kerry Nordling at St Martin’s Press, and Merry Murdle will publish in October 2025.
