Little, Brown imprint Robinson has acquired The Seasonal Baker: Baking All Year Round, the first book from 2019 "Great British Bake Off" contest Michelle Evans-Fecci.
Evans-Fecci was known on the baking show for her "flavoursome, colourful bakes and for championing locally sourced and homegrown produce", said the publisher. Her first book will feature a collection of recipes straight from her kitchen with an emphasis on special occasions such as Easter and Christmas, as well as ways to cook with seasonal produce and hints and tips on how to grow your own food and save money.
Commissioning editor Tom Asker acquired world rights from Martin Redfern at Northbank Talent Management. The book will publish in hardback and e-book on 19th May 2022.
Asker said: "I’m so pleased to be working with Michelle on her brilliant first book. So many of us have tried to be a bit more self-sufficient over the last year – whether that’s baking our own bread or trying to grow vegetables in the garden – and The Seasonal Baker will provide plenty of inspiration and encouragement for anyone who wants give it a go."
Evans-Fecci commented: "My first book, The Seasonal Baker, is filled with colourful, flavoursome bakes for all year round, straight from my kitchen to yours. I hope they become firm family favourites in your home as they have in mine. I am delighted to be working with Tom and the talented Robinson team."
