Robinson has signed a deal for “Masterchef” finalist Philli Armitage-Mattin's debut book Taste Kitchen: Asia. Six Flavours to Suit Every Taste.
Commissioning editor Tom Asker acquired world rights to the book, which will publish in hardback and e-book formats on 23rd June 2022, from Heather Holden-Brown at the hhb literary agency and Eddie Gold at the Gold Studios.
Armitage-Mattin, a finalist in "Masterchef: The Professionals 2020", impressed on the show using her mastery of unconventional flavours, with judges Monica Galetti, Marcus Wareing and Gregg Wallace all "wowed by her cooking”, the publisher said.
“Her first book, Taste Kitchen: Asia, will introduce readers to six distinct flavour profiles and reveal the critical role each ingredient plays in creating a complete, balanced dish that suits your taste buds and mood. With seventy recipes for every palate, personality and occasion, the book will help you cook the food you love to eat every time. Philli has spent her life researching, cooking and eating Asian food, travelling across the continent to experience the culture and cuisine first-hand, and eating and working in world-renowned restaurants along the way.”
Armitage-Mattin said: “I wrote Taste Kitchen: Asia, as a personal guide for home cooks to Asian flavours. You will learn tasting skills, understand flavour and adapt Asian-inspired recipes to suit any palate. This book is a culmination of all my culinary knowledge for you to hack flavour in your everyday cooking, with tips and tricks for you to become a recipe adapter rather than a recipe follower.”
Asker commented: “I’m thrilled to be working with Philli on her brilliant first book. She is an incredible creative talent whose enthusiasm for recipe development and properly delicious, interesting food shines through on every page of Taste Kitchen: Asia. Readers are going to love her joyful, scientific approach to combining flavours and, most importantly, her recipes.”
Gold said: “There are two types of people in the world: Those that are madly in love with the delectable flavours and heavenly recipes that Philli creates. And those who are yet to try it. Taste Kitchen: Asia is a must-read, a must-have, and a must-cook.”
