Robinson has bagged Ukrainian chef Yevhen Klopotenko’s The Authentic Ukrainian Kitchen.
Editorial director Tom Asker acquired UK and Commonwealth rights to the book from Meg Thompson and and Thompson Literary Agency. The cookbook will be published on 15th May 2024 simultaneously in the US by Voracious who hold world rights.
The Authentic Ukrainian Kitchen seeks to celebrate the country’s "independent spirit and unique traditions" in 100 recipes which display "the true food of Ukraine" from modern recipes to forgotten dishes.
Klopotenko is a graduate from Le Cordon Bleu cooking school in Paris and opened 100 Years Back to the Future, a restaurant in Kyiv in 2019. In 2022 he opened Inshi Bistro in Lviv. Klopotenko commented: "You’ll discover new cooking techniques and fresh approaches to fermentation for yourself. Besides, I’ll teach you new ways to cook common vegetables, like we do in Ukraine. It’s high time for you to fall in love with our true food: borsch, pampushky, Lviv-style cheesecake and many other brilliant Ukrainian dishes."
Asker added: “It’s not often you get to work on a cookbook that really is about more than the food. Yevhen has done more than perhaps anyone else to showcase Ukrainian cuisine and culture to the world. I’m delighted that Robinson will be publishing this incredible collection of recipes.”
