Robinson has acquired Read, Write, Play: 100 Easy Ways to Make Phonics Fun for Children Aged 3-7 by Sophie David.
Editorial director Tom Asker acquired world rights in all languages from Darryl Samaraweera of Artellus Ltd. The book will be published in hardback and e-book formats on 5th June 2025.
"Whether you’re supporting school lessons or starting at home, Read, Write, Play provides all the guidance you need – with no prior knowledge of phonics required," the synopsis says. "It is the perfect resource for parents, carers and educators who want to transform phonics into a playful, accessible adventure."
David is an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) specialist, a mum of three and the founder of an online platform providing resources for parents.
David said: "Read, Write, Play is a phonics book like no other. Covering all six phases of phonics, this book is packed with practical, hands-on activities to make learning to read and write easy and fun. The book is the only companion you’ll need to guide your child through the world of phonics. I wrote this book to demystify phonics for parents and carers, helping them navigate their children’s first years of school with confidence and ease."
Asker added: "Phonics is a source of so much confusion for parents who simply want to help their child learn to read and write but don’t know where to begin. This book is the antidote. The imaginative, easy activities Sophie has created make the whole process playful, memorable and loads of fun!"
