Ebury has landed the first book from Harlequins and England loosehead prop Joe Marler, promising the “unfiltered truth” about being a rugby player.
Publisher Andrew Goodfellow bought world all language rights for Loose Head from Rory Scarfe at the Blair Partnership, for publication on 1st October.
Marler has won 71 caps, toured with the British and Irish Lions, been called up to the Barbarians and helped the England team reach the World Cup final in Japan. He is famed for his unconventional haircuts, collection of fines and surreal interviews, including a
Alongside chronicling his life, Marler's book will also take a look at the physical and mental impact of the sport, including his own experience with anxiety and depression.
The publisher said: “Loose Head is an eye-opening journey through the professional rugby bubble, a peek behind the curtains of the England team hotels and training camps, into the excruciating dope tests, quirky team meetings and inside (hold your nose) the smelly, lawless depths of the scrum.
