Ryland Peters & Small has scooped Chef Tee’s Caribbean Cookbook, a book of "deeply comforting recipes" from the chef and restaurateur.
Editorial director Julia Charles acquired world rights from the publication April 2023.
"Chef Tee’s Caribbean Cookbook will bring the joy of Caribbean cooking to your kitchen with 80 varied and exciting recipes, from jerk chicken and curry goat to rum-soaked cakes and island cocktails," the synopsis reads.
Chef Tee is the owner of Paradise Cove, formerly Sugarcane, in Wandsworth, south London, which he opened during the pandemic.
"From the age of 18, I knew that somehow, someway I would own a restaurant," he said. "Bizarrely, the pandemic was a blessing for me. It enabled me to be ’brave’ and follow my dream leading me to create Paradise Cove, my restaurant loved by many. This isn’t just a cookbook: it’s an interpretation of where I come from, it is my journey of trial and error, it is my story. To put it simply, it is an extension of me."
Charles added: "Paradise Cove, Chef Tee’s small neighbourhood Caribbean restaurant in Wandsworth truly represents the meaning of community, as his regular customers or ‘family’ would agree. We are delighted and honoured to be publishing his deeply comforting recipes that in the words of Jay Rayner ’take a gentle journey around the islands’ and to be part of Tee’s evolving and inspiring story."
