Sandstone signs Vagenda co-founder Cosslett's debut novel

Sandstone Press has acquired The Tyranny of Lost Things, the debut novel from The Vagenda blog founder Rhiannon Lucy Cosslett which it says will "resonate with the millenial generation".

As well as founding The Vagenda blog, Cosslett is also a Guardian writer and the co-author of The Vagenda: A Zero Tolerance Guide to the Media (Square Peg).

Her debut novel tells the story of Harmony, who, having dropped out of university, returns to the site of the urban commune where she lived as a child, now divided into flats. She rents a room in the hope of uncovering the source of her nightmares about a red-headed woman who haunts the house and her obsession with lost objects from her childhood.

As the London riots explode in the streets, the past and present converge, blurred by drugs and sex and cheap wine, and Harmony begins to discover what really happened at Longhope 20 years ago. Can she grow up at last, and build her own future?

Sandstone Press acquired UK, Ireland and Commonwealth rights excluding Canada from Diana Beaumont of Marjacq Scripts.
