Scholastic will publish the Vegan Family Cookbook from 13-year-old Omari McQueen, the youngest award-winning vegan chef in the UK and founder of snack food company Dipalicious.
Leah James, publishing manager, acquired world rights from Oscar Janson-Smith at Kruger Crowne. Publication is slated for January 2022, in time for Veganuary.
The cook is aimed at ages eight plus and their families to "inspire and motivate families nationwide to try plant-based cooking at home". Recipes include Mac ‘n’ Cheese Spicy Nuggets, BBQ Jerk Mushroom Steak, Gooey Marshmallow Cookies and Cake Pops.
McQueen is the presenter of CBBC series "What’s Cooking Omari?". His first book, Omari McQueen’s Best Bites, was published by Scholastic in January 2021.
He said: "This book is very close to my heart and belly, with lots of my family’s favourite treats and meals inside."
James commented: "We’re delighted to be publishing another book with the irrepressible Omari. His recipes come from the heart and his book is full of family, flavour and fun."
