Scholastic to publish 12-year-old's vegan cookbook

Scholastic UK is to publish a vegan cookbook for children by 12-year-old chef and YouTuber Omari McQueen. 

Leah James, publishing manager, acquired world rights for Omari McQueen's Best Bites Cookbook from Oscar Janson-Smith at Kruger Crowne. 

McQueen runs a vegan business, Dipalicious, and has hosted a pop-up shop at Croydon's Box Park. 

James said: “Omari McQueen is inspirational. At just 12 years old, he has achieved so much. His passion for food and cooking is irresistible. Children everywhere have been busy learning to cook during lockdown; we can’t wait for Omari to share his recipes, tips and enthusiasm with a generation of children and their families.”

Janson-Smith added: “Omari is leading a new generation of ethically minded foodies into a more sustainable future.”

The book will be published in January 2021.
