Scholastic UK is set to publish two novels based on the Dreamworks animation "Trolls", which will be released in cinemas on 21st October.
The publisher will release two prequel novels, one entitled Follow Your Art and the other currently untitled, in September, one month before the film’s release.
The deal covers rights for UK and Eire and was brokered by Maya Maraj, licensing scout for Scholastic, and Elizabeth Scoggins, publisher of licensing for Scholastic UK.
Scoggins said: “We’re huge fans of DreamWorks Animation and we’re thrilled to be part of what’s already shaping up to be a must-see family movie this autumn. We know that children love to read about their favourite movie characters and this is a great opportunity to get more kids to enjoy books and reading.”
The animation "Trolls" is based on the dolls, hugely popular in the 1990s, of the same name. The voices are provided by Justin Timberlake, Zooey Deschanel, Russell Brand, James Corden and Gwen Stefani and the director is Mike Mitchell.
