Scribe has signed Ashes 2023: A Cricket Classic from cricket journalist Gideon Haigh.
Publisher Henry Rosenbloom acquired world rights directly from the author. The book will be published in hardback on 26th October 2023 and will be supported by a "widespread out of home advertising campaign".
Ashes 2023 covers this year’s Ashes and will be published with a picture section and foreword by Peter Lalor. Of the book, sales director Richard Humphreys said: "The Ashes of 2023 will go down in the annals of the sport as one of the greatest cricket series in living memory. The captivating cricket on show brought the nation to a standstill as the sport’s oldest rivals battled it out over five eventful test matches that each had their own storylines and controversies. With a foot in both camps, cricket’s premier reporter Gideon Haigh wrote for the Times in the UK and in Australia. This book mixes his match reports with new material to create a priceless memento of an unforgettable series. It’s the perfect gift for all cricket fans."
Haigh said: "There’s nothing like an Ashes summer, and I should know, as this was the seventh instalment I had covered in England, and may even have been the best — at least on par with the annus mirabilis of 2005. I did a book then, and it seemed only right to provide one now."
