Seven Dials is set to release a collection of the “best” recipes by Si King and Dave Myers, better known as the Hairy Bikers.
Bringing together 120 recipes, The Best of the Hairy Bikers will be published in hardback and e-book on 13th March 2025.
The book is part of an existing multi-book deal for world rights made by Vicky Eribo, executive publisher of Orion Publishing, and Nicola Ibison of Ibison Media.
The Best of the Hairy Bikers follows last autumn’s publication of Our Family Favourites, which was finished by King in tribute to Myers who last year died from cancer aged 66.
Drawing on the thousands of previously published recipes the pair have developed over the years, this book comprises King’s top 10 dishes in a range of categories including snacks and soups, pasta and pies, traybakes, curries, roasts, puddings and more.
Eribo said: “Working with the Hairy Bikers and their team is always an honour and privilege, but as we embarked on this final title together – and re-immersed ourselves in over 15 years of publishing and thousands of recipes – it felt particularly special. Whittling this amazing collection of ideas down to the 120 ‘best’ recipes was far more challenging than any of us could have anticipated. But what better way to remind us all of the amazing culinary journey it has been. We are incredibly proud to be publishing this title in March in celebration of all that Dave and Si have created and achieved.”
King said: “This is without doubt the most difficult book the team and I have worked on. The process of picking your favourite recipes from 30 books is a bit like being asked to pick your favourite child! However, it was a lovely trip down memory lane. The team and I recalled wonderful times filled with fun, laughter and joy, and hilarious disagreements about the processes of writing recipes. Every one of our wonderful creative publishing team were an inspiration to Dave and me. I am sure the team will come together again, but until then, it’s ta-ta for now – and a massive thank you for all your hard work and unfaltering support.”
King and Myers met on the set of a TV drama in 1995 and spent their next three decades cooking and riding motorbikes together. They have written over 30 cookbooks, including The Hairy Bikers’ Ultimate Comfort Food, The Hairy Bikers’ Veggie Feasts, The Hairy Bikers’ One Pot Wonders, The Hairy Bikers’ British Classics and The Hairy Bikers’ Mediterranean Adventure.
The Hairy Bikers’ books have sold more than six million copies.
