Sheldon Press is publishing Gail McNeill’s “new guide to midlife metamorphosis for women who want to change the conversation about menopause, and instead take advantage of the unique opportunities for transformation offered by this life stage”.
Editorial director Victoria Roddam acquired world English-language rights to The Midlife Edit from Oscar Janson-Smith. It will publish in September 2024.
“Better known to her hundreds of thousands of followers as @fiftysister on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, Gail McNeill shares her own story of physical, spiritual and emotional transformation in The Midlife Edit to guide readers step by step along the path to reinvention,” the publisher said. “Showing that it’s never too late to transform your life, this book helps readers to build a cocoon nourished by dietary, lifestyle and spiritual insights from which they can emerge transformed and re-energised to make the best of their middle years.”
McNeill said: “I’m living proof that it’s never too late to start something new. Two-and-a-half years ago I was lost, struggling to get through each day. I went in search of inspiration and found it from a diverse range of individuals from all over the world, who shared their words of enlightenment and insight. I gathered up those precious snippets of wisdom and crafted it into The Midlife Edit: the book I wish I’d had when I had surrendered to the blackness at the bottom of a metaphorical well. I believe we hold the power to manifest the life we dream of, pursuing endeavours that ignite our passion. And who wouldn’t aspire to such a fulfilling existence?”
