Simon & Schuster has acquired We Love You, Bunny, the follow-up to Bunny (Head of Zeus) by Mona Awad.
Chris White, editorial director, Scribner, at Simon & Schuster, bought UK and Commonwealth rights from Anna Webber at AM Heath on behalf of Bill Clegg at The Clegg Agency. In separate deals, Marysue Rucci at Marysue Rucci Books (an imprint of Simon & Schuster) acquired US rights, and Canadian rights were acquired by Awad’s long-standing editor Nicole Winstanley from her new perch as publisher and president of Simon & Schuster Canada.
The book is described as "a prequel and a sequel", as well as an "unabashedly wild and totally complete standalone novel", and will be published in September 2025.
Commenting on the acquisitions, Jonathan Karp, global president and chief executive officer of Simon & Schuster, said: "When it became clear that we would be able to publish Mona Awad internationally, across all of our English-language territories, the jolt of electricity throughout Simon & Schuster was strong enough to conduct itself across oceans. We are elated be publishing the next work in this brilliantly original author’s canon."
Awad added: "I just had the most incredible time visiting the UK for the paperback release of Rouge, and getting to meet so many wonderful UK readers and booksellers. I’m thrilled to be working with my brilliant editor Chris White again as well as the amazing team at Scribner UK and I can’t wait to return for this new novel, Bunny."
