'Sin Eater’s Daughter' optioned for TV

Independent TV company Little Island has optioned the rights to Melinda Salisbury’s YA fantasy trilogy The Sin Eater’s Daughter (Scholastic).

Little Island signed the deal with Emily Hayward Whitlock at The Artists Partnership, working in conjunction with Claire Wilson at Rogers, Coleridge & White. 

Suzan Harrison, head of development at Little Island, said: “With a compelling cast of characters populating vivid worlds in an epic landscape, The Sin Eater’s Daughter trilogy is a gift for television. Melinda Salisbury is a wonderful and exciting new voice and we are absolutely delighted to be working with her at Little Island.”

Salisbury added: “I'm absolutely thrilled that the Sin Eater series has found a home with Little Island. I was bowled over by their passion, vision and enthusiasm for the books, and their dedication to producing them for television, and I'm over the moon to be working with them on it.”

The first book in the series, also entitled The Sin Eater’s Daughter, was published in 2015 and was shortlisted for The Bookseller’s YA Book Prize and the  Waterstones Children’s Fiction Prize. The second book, The Sleeping Prince, was released earlier this year.
