Pip Payne, founder of "The Slimming Foodie" blog, is publishing her debut cookbook with Octopus imprint Aster.
The Slimming Foodie: Everyday Meals Made Healthy, Hearty and Delicious will publish on 29th April 2021. Billed as "the food lover’s weight-loss guide", it contains more than 100 easy and slimming recipes, said the publisher, which all come in at under 600 calories.
Natalie Bradley, commissioning editor at Octopus Publishing Group, acquired world all-languages rights from Heather Holden-Brown at the HHB Agency.
A Slimming Foodie recipe is described as one that is "nourishing, balanced and flavourful, budget conscious, using everyday ingredients" and "designed for minimal prep and an easy execution", ranging from a "one-pot wonder" to a quick midweek meal or weekend feast. Lower calories are achieved through "clever swaps and cooking techniques".
Payne's blog "The Slimming Foodie" has received more than three million visits while she herself has a combined social media following of more than 200,000 people. She said: "I love creating recipes that make it easy for anyone to cook healthy, tasty and balanced meals from scratch. I am so excited to be able to share this book, and I hope that it is one that both new, and seasoned, home cooks can pick up day after day and always find inspiration."
Bradley praised Payne as "the queen of slimming in style", adding the book would be a "key title" for Octopus come the spring.
"With simple swaps, she takes everyday ingredients and turns them into pure magic on a plate," she said. "This is no-frills family cooking that you’ll want to eat again and again and again. The Slimming Foodie is a key title for Octopus this spring and a household name in the making."
The book publishes on 29th April 2021 at £20 in hardback, and will also available as an e-book.
